POSITION SUMMARY:  The Compliance Assistant is responsible for assisting the Compliance Officer in monitoring, reporting and internal reviews to ensure Bank is adhering to company and regulatory policies and regulations. This position will work on-site in our Orange City branch location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEssential duties and responsibilities are intended to describe those functions that are essential to the performance of this position.

  • Responsible for monitoring the Complaint Program and communicating with appropriate personnel as needed. 
  • Assist with coordinating and conducting internal compliance testing and monitoring.
  • Responsible for updating the denial log.
  • Work with Compliance Officer to implement regulatory policies, procedures, and quality control to ensure compliance with applicable banking regulations and/or regulatory requirements including federal and applicable state regulations.
  • Occasional regulatory training for employees with respect to applicable job functions or as a response to audit findings.
  • Assist as an internal resource for compliance related questions, issues, and resolutions.
  • Assist with preparing and distributing information, scheduling, and taking minutes for monthly compliance committee meetings. 
  • Assists in coordinating audit materials for internal compliance audits and external regulatory bodies.
  • Attend internal or external meetings or conferences as needed.
  • Travel to other branches as needed to conduct  training and/or ensure standardization process between branches.
  • Monitor credit reports for mismatch alerts.
  • New loan image reviews
  • Verify rate changes
  • Conduct targeted reviews for loans, deposits and BSA as identified and submit initial risk reports based on review findings along with recommendations for process adjustments and potential staff training needs.
  • Assist BSA Officer in fielding loan and deposit related questions regarding the compliance of specific products/service. 
  • Assist BSA Officer as a backup for daily reports (Abrigo software system) and CTR filing. 
  • Track CD & DDA closing reasons.
  • Accepts other responsibilities as assigned to help embrace ISB’s values.  
  • As a part of the overall  team of bank employees, this position may be requested to assist in the support of other bank activities.
